In the beginning...
As I begin my journey into the digital scrapbooking design world I am reminded that every great designer that I admire began somewhere. I am not very good at drawing on paper and I can't paint either, but for some reason when I am clenching the mouse and am working in a software program I feel comfortable with, magic begins. And for me magic is creating beautiful pages to showcase the memories of my beautiful family. Far too many people have very few lasting memories to share when they are older and I don't want that to be the case with my family. I want to remember and enjoy the special times we share and have fun with the hobby of scrapbooking through my computer. The picture below is a 12x12 page that I created in Microsoft Picture IT! with a picture of my daughter Savannah hanging ornaments on the family Christmas tree. I liked how the pink and green colors complement each other and the lesson I learned with making this quick page (or QP as digi scrapbookers refer to them) is how to make a cut-out to insert a picture behind. I hope to grow even more as I learn to design and capture memories of my family.

Looks like you have mastered the technique of scrapbooking. These will be wonderful memories of your family. I certainly would like to learn more about how to do this too!
Wow...I didn't even know digital scrapbooking even existed. This is a terrific way to preserve memories. I am going to research the information you wrote and see if it's something I can do or incorporate elements of it into my technology curriculum ar school. Thanks.
Before I decided to start work on my doctorate I had gotten into scrapbooking and really enjoyed it. I had started a scrapbook for my son for his senior year in high school and then his first year at the University of Georgia in the Redcoat Marching Band. I was fortunate to be able to attend all of the home games his freshman year so I took pictures at all of the practices and with a zoom lens on my digital camera made pictures of him on the field. I gave it to him that Christmas (2 years ago) and he seemed really pleased with it. I have just started hearing about digital scrapbooking but am so caught up in the doctorate program everything is on hold until that is finished.
I commend you on teaching elementary and spending time with your children and keeping up your hobbies.
